A pub has been situated at No.86 Duleek St since the mid 1700`s Most notably owned by a renowned eccentric known as The Barber ( Thomas Callan ). A man made famous by his antics during World War 2 . He drank all the pubs whisky rations himself . Closing for busines the day they arrived and reopening when he sobered up due to his supply running out . He repeated this procedure the next delivery day … thus beer was the only staple for his customers .. How things have changed . The current pub has one of the largest selections of spirits in the North-east.
The pub is situated in Drogheda`s historic quarter , in the shadow of Milmount Tower. The tower ( highest building in the town) is now a museum and well worth a visit at any time .
Renowned locally for its food , music , and sport, The Pheasant is ideally located on the best route into town. The bar is also just a few minutes walk from Funtasia Waterpark , one of Ireland’s leading attractions. The waterpark boasts a bowling and dry play area , so there is something for everyone.
The Pheasant Bar and Grill is currently offering its facilities to dancers and musicians who need practice space . Its free so feel free to get in touch if you need some space 🙂
